Sporting Clube de Goa enjoyed another strong season in the Goa Professional League, staying consistent and competitive right until the end. Their steady performances kept them in contention, which was decided only on the final day
Sporting Clube de Goa clinched the title on May 3, holding Dempo SC in check during a tense final clash. The goalless draw confirmed their place at the top with 46 points, as they held on to their one-point lead to be crowned champions.
The result crowned Sporting Clube de Goa as champions for the second consecutive year, marking their 8th Goa Professional League title.
The 2024–25 Goa Professional League marks the 28th edition of the state’s premier football competition with Sporting Clube de Goa entering the season as defending champions.
Sporting’s striker Doyal Alves emerged as the top scorer of the Goa Professional League 2024–25, netting 15 goals and providing 9 assists in just 17 matches, cementing his role as both a prolific finisher and a key playmaker.Sporting relied on the consistency of Kunal Kundaikar at the back, with the defender making 15 appearances, scoring 2 goals and assisting twice as they lifted the title in May.
Leading from the center, captain Dattaraj Gaonkar powered Sporting’s charge with 13 appearances, 5 clean sheets, and 4 assists, playing a pivotal role in the team’s title-winning campaign.
With the new GPL campaign kicking off in September, Sporting will look to build on their recent success and aim for a ninth title. The squad has been in pre-season training, focused on carrying forward the momentum from last year while staying prepared for the league’s challenges.
Sesa Charity Cup 2024-25
Sporting Clube de Goa clinched the GFA Charity Match title after edging past Sesa Football Academy in a penalty shootout, following a 1–1 draw at Duler Stadium. Sporting showcased composure under pressure, converting all four of their spot-kicks to seal the win. The match saw competitive action from both sides, with missed chances and crucial saves keeping the game finely balanced.
The Sesa Charity Cup is a football tournament organised by the Goa Football Association (GFA), with support from Vedanta Sesa Goa and Sesa Football Academy.
Santosh Trophy 2024-25
Kicked off on November 10, the 2024–25 Santosh Trophy is the 78th edition of one of India’s premier competitions for senior men’s football teams representing their states, union territories, and government institutions.
Midfielder Ivon Costa of Sporting Clube de Goa was named Player of the Match in the exciting Goa vs Tamil Nadu clash at the Santosh Trophy for his exceptional performance on the field.
Sporting Clube de Goa Strengthens Grassroots Football
In May 2025, Sporting Clube de Goa signed MoUs with Saraswat Vidhyalaya High School in Mapusa and Sacred Heart of Jesus High School in Anjuna to enhance youth football development across the state.
The initiative aims to provide structured coaching, scouting opportunities, and talent development programs, particularly for players from rural and semi-urban areas, reinforcing the club’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of Goan footballers.

The Reliance Foundation Development League (RFDL), in collaboration with the All India Football Federation (AIFF), offers a premier platform for young talent to grow and showcase their skills.

It also strengthens the club’s scouting system, helping identify and nurture future stars for both national and international competitions.
The 2024–25 season was a successful one for Sporting Clube de Goa. They won their eighth Goa Professional League title, claimed the Sesa Charity Cup, and saw their youth teams make their first appearance in the Reliance Foundation Development League.
