Naocha Brace Secures Sporting Clube de Goa’s First Win of the Season

Duler, September 27 — Sporting Clube de Goa registered their first Goa Professional League win of the season, beating Pax of Nagoa 2-0 on Saturday, with Naocha Singh scoring both goals.

The deadlock was broken in first-half stoppage time when Naocha converted a precise pass from Ivon Costa to put Sporting ahead 1-0 at the break.

The lead was extended in the 72nd minute when Naocha struck again from the right corner following a well-placed cross from Rohan Rodrigues, giving the home side a comfortable advantage.

The first half also saw a few cautions, with yellow cards shown to Pax of Nagoa’s Musharraf in the 27th minute and Sporting’s Ivon Costa in the 42nd minute.

Both teams pressed hard in the second half, creating chances in quick succession, but Sporting’s defence remained solid, and the visitors were unable to convert their opportunities.

The win comes after a goalless draw against Sesa Football Academy in Sporting’s season opener at Duler Stadium. Sporting will next take on Dempo SC at Duler Stadium on October 3.
