Duler, January 29 — Sporting Clube de Goa’s Midfielder Naocha Singh netted a fine hat-trick as Sporting Clube de Goa dismantled Bidesh XI SC 7–0 in their 13th Goa Professional League fixture at the Duler Stadium on Thursday.
The Flaming Oranje now stand level with CD Salgaocar at the top of the standings with 30 points while Bidesh XI SC stand at four points. The dominant performance featured a relentless second-half display, with Samuel Costa, Joyson Gaoncar, and Ivon Costa also adding to the scoreline.
Sporting Clube de Goa took the lead in the 23rd minute when the deadlock was broken following a left-corner kick from Samuel Costa, a scramble in the box resulted in Bidesh defender Lamjingba Nongthombam inadvertently kneed the ball into his own net. Bidesh XI SC were awarded a set-piece opportunity just a minute later outside the area, but Fredsan Marshall’s strike drifted wide of the left post, leaving Sporting’s lead intact.
The momentum shifted entirely in the second half as Sporting’s attack became relentless. In the 51st minute, Niraj Parekh delivered a precise cross from the left for Naocha to head home the second goal. Samuel Costa quickly followed in the 55th minute, slotting in the third goal of the match and his second of the season.
The pressure intensified in the 63rd minute when Naocha won a tackle near the goal and clinically finished to secure Sporting’s fourth. Just a minute later, Joyson Gaoncar found the net from the right side to make it 5–0, marking his third goal of the campaign.
Naocha completed his hat-trick in the 79th minute with another header from close range, taking his season total to seven goals. Ivon Costa rounded off the scoring in stoppage time, finishing from close range to secure his second goal of the season and to round off the home team’s dominant seven-goal display.
Sporting Clube de Goa will next be seen playing against Calangute Association on February 2 at the Duler Stadium.
