Sporting Outplay Vasco SC 3–1 in Goa Professional League Clash

Duler, November 9: Sporting Clube de Goa registered a composed 3–1 victory over Vasco SC in their eighth Goa Professional League clash at Duler Stadium on Sunday. Goals from Anil Zore, Joel Colaco, and Naocha Singh sealed the result, as Sporting displayed clinical finishing and solid defensive organisation to secure all three points.

Sporting opened strongly, taking the lead in just the 5th minute through centre-back U-21 Anil Zore. Myron Fernandes delivered a long pass from the flank to striker Doyal Alves, who collided with the Vasco SC goalkeeper outside the box. The loose ball fell to Anil, who calmly slotted home from the left, beating two defenders to find the back of the net.

Vasco SC equalised in the 30th minute through their captain Reuben Hetkhotinchon, whose curling free-kick from just outside the box deflected off the wall and dipped over the line. Both sides traded corners and attacking moves before the break, but neither could find a second goal.

Sporting came out sharper in the second half, maintaining control in midfield and creating sustained pressure in the final third. In the 78th minute, Letzamang Haokip delivered a pinpoint corner from the left, which Joel Colaco met with a well-timed header to restore the lead.

Naocha Singh then extended the advantage in the 90th minute, finishing confidently from the right side of the box after being set up by Rohan Rodrigues, sealing Sporting’s deserved 3–1 win.

With this result, Sporting Clube de Goa continue their strong campaign in the GPL and will next face Churchill Brothers SC in an away fixture at Raia on November 14.
